A day of sledding

My sister Kristy and her family along with my brother JD came to stay for the weekend. My nephews were so excited to play in the snow but by the time they got here the snow was basically allready melted. Needless to say we went and searched for any snow we could find and we got lucky and found some fun hills. Although most of the snow had already turned to ice. We still had a blast. It is so fun to have family come and visit.

More Sledding

Okay, so my friend Jamie challenged me to tell ya'll the things that make me unique as I would like to put it. So here are a few things that I do that some of you might think are a little questionable...

First, I go a little over board when it is time to lock up the house and go to bed. I have to check and recheck to make sure all the doors are locked. I go in my kids bedrooms and look under the bed and in the closet and their doors have to be shut. Sometimes Katon wakes up when I kiss him goodnight and he hates having the door shut and so I will lay in my bed until I think he is asleep and go back and shut his door.

When I load the dishwasher every dish, cup, utensil etc. has to be washed off in the sink first. Every little thing on them has to be cleaned off. When Steven does the dishes he leaves food and stuff on them and I will take all the dishes out and wash them and then reload. It drives Steven crazy. He always tells me that the food will come off in the dishwasher. That's what their made for. I know that but I can't help it.

I am obsessed with zits. When I have the slightest bump that I know is a zit I will pick and pick and pick at it. Even when they are not visible I can't stop myself from trying to pop it. So needless to say because of my obsession I have little scars on my face and it actually makes me break out more because I don't just leave them alone. I can't help it. Gross I know...

I can not eat at certain fast foods. McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, Dell Taco, Jack in the Box, etc. It doesn't matter how hungry I am and if that was the only thing to eat I can not bring myself to eat it. Lame huh

Unlike some people it doesn't bother me to use my hands to flush public toilets but I can not sit on them. Even if they have those paper seat covers I still put one on but then I only squat over the toilet. Even when I take my little girls to the restroom I have a whole little system of how I hold them over the toilet seat. It is getting harder to do now that Mikelle is getting bigger.

When I go to sleep my feet always have to be covered by the sheets. Even if I get hot I can never have my feet out from under the covers.

I sort the shirts in my closet by colors.

I dust my ceiling fans once a week. They are never in need of being dusted that often but I never feel like my cleaning is done unless I have dusted the fans.

Okay this might be a little more than you need to know and just for the record I do have good personal hygiene but I wear the same work out clothes to the gym all week. Yup, shirt, sports bra, pants, and underwear. I don't wash them and I don't change them. I just don't see the point.

Last one... I will admit it, I am addicted to a soap opera. All my Children. I will say that it is one of my goals not to watch it. I have really improved. I have gone from watching it every day to now only twice week. But I really have to avoid the temptation. It is on at the wrong time. It is right when my kids take a nap and I can make myself a yummy lunch and sit on the couch and watch my soap opera. I figure that if I can overcome not drinking soda I can certainly restrain myself from watching a soap opera.

Okay there you have it. I hope you all feel that you know me a little better and that you'll still be my friend. Hey, were only human.

My cute Kayla

Isn't she so adorable. Kayla loves to take pictures. She'll get in my closet and climb up the shelves to get the camera. Then she unzips the case, gets the camera out and hands it to me. Immediately after handing it to me she says cheeeezzzz. So what I am trying to say is that my daughter likes to take pictures of herself. Is that good or bad. I guess when your this cute it could be a good thing.

Dunes

This last weekend we went to the dunes with some of Stevens family. It was an absolute blast. How could it not be. Your at the dunes. My favorite highlight was getting a ride from my brother in law Paul in his rail. That thing is fast. I could not believe how fast it went up comp hill. It was so much fun riding in it. I did have my official first wreck on a quad. I went over the top of a dune and fell into a witches eye. The quad came to an immediate stop but I kept on going. It kinda shook me up a little but I figured I got it over with and now I don't have to be worried of wrecking anymore cause it really isn't that bad. Steven took Katon for his first venture out in the dunes with his quad. Steven said that he was amazed at how good Katon did and how he never got scared going up on the big dunes. Katon even went up comp hill. His quad didn't make it up all the way but at least he tried. Mikelle really liked this dunes trip because she learned how to ride the quad all by herself. She did great riding around the camp sight and tried to venture out a little in the dunes until mom stopped her. Mom didn't think that was such a great idea yet. Maybe next time. Needless, to say we had a great weekend with our families at the dunes.

Snow season is here

Well there is officially snow and I don't think it is going to go away any time soon. We are really liking the snow. Except for the time that it took me an hour and twenty five minutes to get home from picking up Katon from school. Not to mention that his school is only about three streets down from our house. At least it wasn't that I was an amature driving in the snow cause everybody was stuck. Even a lot of 4x4 vehicles could not get out. The school is down a hill and nobody could get up the hill to leave. The rode was complete ice. Everybody was so nice. We were all helping in any way we could. I had two men that kept throwing tree branches under my tires to help me get traction and when I was far enough up the hill one of them helped tow me the rest of the way up. Trust me is was an ordeal. I would rather walk in the snow with my kids to pick up Katon then to go through that again. This last weekend my brothers came up and stayed with us. We were going to go to snow bowl but it didn't open up like it was supposed to so instead we went sledding and Steven and my brothers went and made their own hill and jump to snowboard down. It was a lot of fun having them here. I am surprised how much my kids love the snow. Even Kayla. They love sledding. Katon and Mikelle just take off going down hills and have a blast. Kayla even goes down the hill by herself. I love sledding down with her because she makes that wheeee sound and it is so cute but she wants to do it all her self. It has been a fun new experience living somewhere that it snows. It is nice because I can stay home all day and I don't have to feel guilty because you don't really want to go drive in the snow and be out in the freezing cold if you don't have to. I love to be in my cozy warm home with the fireplace. Steven started back up at school and can already tell that this semester is going to be tough. It was nice that he had a month long break but I think we were both ready for him to start school again. Anyway if anybody body wants to come and play in the snow just know that you have a place to stay and keep warm.

Endless hours of game cube

I wasn't kidding when I said that I thought the game cube was secretly for Steven. This is what you find him doing on his free time. I can't complain though because at least he plays it with the kids. Katon and him have a fun time playing together with all the many different games. Steven better watch out because Katon practices when dad is not around and is getting pretty good.
Almost every morning Katon wakes up and gets ready for school all by himself. I kid you not. He gets dressed ( clothes, shoes, jacket, beanie and gloves etc.) makes himself cereal and sometimes gets the whole family set up with our own bowl of cereal. He brushes his teeth and combs his hair. I guess the only thing he really doesn't do is make his own lunch. We are working in that. Just kidding. We thought this picture was cute because this is the way he combs his hair. He is going for the donald trump look.

Happy New Year

We hope you all have a wonderful New Year

Merry Christmas

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Ours was fantastic. We were able to spend 2 weeks down in the valley with Stevens parents over Christmas. John and Jessica and their family came home for Christmas and also stayed with the Kemptons so we had a blast seeing them. We only see them about twice a year so it was nice being able to spend a lot of time with them. The cousins especially loved it. Santa Clause was good to us again this year. He brought Katon a game cube which I also think was secretly meant for his dad. Mikelle got a barbie house and I have to say that mom enjoys playing with it to. It makes real noises. And Kayla got a baby set up with stroller and crib etc. The kids really enjoyed all their gifts and we had a blast waking up on Christmas morning with grandpa and grandma Kempton, Uncle John and Aunt Jessica with cousins Nate and Brad and Uncle Robert, Aunt amber with cousins Chandler, Trent and Ashley. We had a blast opening presents and making memories with families. We love Christmas time. It really is the greatest part of the year.

Oh, How Cute

What handsome boys you are...

Christmas Eve

We go to the Jarvis's (Jenny's parents) for Christmas Eve. It is a ton of fun. We have tons of food that is buffet style and it stays out all night for us to munch on whenever. We play games and laugh and have a great time. The one thing we always do is grandpa Jarvis reads a story about Santa and the Christ child. We read that same story every year to try to remember the real meaning of Christmas. Then we all have the opportunity to express our love for the Savior. It is really nice to be able to hear your families testimonies. Anyway we had a wonderful Christmas Eve. Stevens parents have their family Christmas party on the 23rd so we are fortunate to be able to attend both family parties.

Here are the cousins listening to grandpas story

Santa Clause

On Christmas Eve at the Jarvis home Santa and Mrs. Clause came by to say hello. All of the kids were so excited. Kayla was infatuated with Santa. She sat on his lap the entire time Mrs. Clause read us a story. The kids all loved seeing Santa and they all had to make sure that he was going to come to their homes that night. Santa assured that he would as long as they would go straight to bed that night for their moms and dads. Thank you Santa

Uncle Robert and Trent

Uncle John and Aunt Jessica
We love family Christmas parties.

These are the things you'll find Steven doing on his days off. I don't know why he was doing that either. I guess he really likes his truck, although that is now my brothers truck. Well Josh, now you know that the engine is clean. Ha ha

Okay, I have to brag a little about my wonderful husband

Steven had been gone a lot studying for his finals and I was basically a single mother for a while. Everyone could tell that I was about to pull my hair out. Just kidding our kids are wonderful but you kinda get worn out when you don't have any help. So Steven surprised me with these beautiful flowers one night and set up a babysitter and everything so that we could go on a date and get to know each other again. It was so sweet. It was exactly what I was needing. What a great husband he is.
